Hi everyone!
Glad to see this contest is about a game I like
I gonna start with a weapon that I would be happy to play with (I guess it can be fun : D): a grand mace in a ceremonial style.
Reference board:
"The earliest ceremonial maces were practical weapons intended to protect the king's person, borne by the Sergeants-at-Arms."

After some tests I finally got something I'm happy with.
I tried to fit as much as possible with the ceremonial/religious style, but add something more aggressive/massive in the shape.
I also wanted to avoid to add religious symbols, just "suggest" the spirit (fit with something that could have exist), so I ended by adding some "gothic" style elements.
At the bottom of the picture, some of the tests, at the top the base mesh.
Hope you'll like it!
Cheers
About the texturing process: I worked in PBR (so the next step will be to adapt the textures for UE3 shaders), I baked some informations/create some maps in Substance Designer and did the rest in Substance Painter.
Started with clean materials, then added details, some dirt, scratches, and some dirt. Then I removed some dirt
Here is what I have for now :
The transition from PBR to "classic" shader was not that easy (especially because we have to use existing shaders ) but it's done!
Here are some pictures of the asset in the editor, hope you'll like it!

Best of luck to you.
